Ady

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026. This policy covers the Android app “Ady: Convert MP3 Transcribe AI” (package com.theyourlist.ady), published by TheYourList (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected].

1. Your videos, audio and text stay on your phone

Converting video to audio, trimming, speech recognition (transcription), speaker labels, noise removal (Studio Clean), AI summaries, chapters, “Ask your audio” and clip export all run on your device. We never receive, upload, store or share your videos, audio, transcripts, summaries, questions, titles or speaker names, and we operate no servers that process them.

Where it is stored and for how long: converted audio, transcripts and notes are kept in the app’s private storage on your phone until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app. Videos you pick are read in place (or copied temporarily to the app cache while converting, then discarded by Android). Files you choose to “Save to Music” are copied to your phone’s Music/Ady folder and are then managed by you. Cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for this data.

2. Permissions

Ady does not request access to your photo or video library; you choose each file in the system picker or share it to Ady.

3. Model downloads

Optional AI models (the summary engine, additional languages, the Accurate model, speaker labels, Studio Clean) are downloaded once from Hugging Face or GitHub. These downloads only fetch model files; nothing about you or your files is sent. The providers see a standard web request (such as your IP address) under their own policies.

4. Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)

With your consent where required, we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. We log anonymous usage events such as “video converted (MP3, 5–15 minutes)”, “transcription completed (English)”, “paywall viewed” or “purchase completed”, plus device model, OS and app version, approximate region and an app-instance identifier. Crash reports contain the error type and stack trace only. We never log file names, titles, transcript text, summaries or questions; the app enforces this with an allow-list of event parameters. Firebase Remote Config is used to tune paywall and ad settings.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob and Unity Ads)

The free version shows ads: a small banner in the library, an occasional full-screen ad after a conversion or export finishes, and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch to unlock a Pro feature for one item. Ads are never shown while converting, transcribing, reading a transcript, recording, during onboarding or on the paywall. Ady Pro removes all ads.

Ads are served by Google AdMob, with Unity Ads competing through AdMob mediation and serving the banner directly. These partners may collect the advertising ID, device and usage information to serve and measure ads. See Google’s and Unity’s privacy policies.

6. Your choices (GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, US state laws)

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Ady asks for your consent through Google’s consent message (IAB TCF) before personalised ads or analytics are used. If you decline, ads are non-personalised and analytics stays off. In US states with privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado), you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and targeted advertising. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.

Legal bases (GDPR): consent for analytics and personalised ads; performance of a contract for purchases; legitimate interest for crash diagnostics where consent is not required. You may request access, deletion, correction or portability of data we control, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Because we do not hold your media or text, most requests are satisfied by deleting items in the app. California residents: we do not sell personal information for money; ad partners may receive identifiers as described above, which you can opt out of in Privacy choices. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their rights.

7. Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play. We never receive your payment details; Google tells the app whether Pro is active.

8. Data retention and deletion

Media and notes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months. See how to delete your data.

9. Children

Ady is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
